hotel, The
hotel is one of the more prestige Hotels in Farnham Surry and Guildford area and provides the highest
standards of luxury expected from a local premier hotel. Situated just south
of London, Churt in Farnham, Surrey is surprisingly rural, with something of
interest for everyone.
For people interested in history there are plenty of historic sites such as
the Shalford Mill near Guildford. It is a 18th-century watermill with
well-preserved machinery. A stone throw away is Farnham Castle was built by
Henry of Blois, Bishop of Winchester, during the first half of the 12th
century.
If art tickles your fancy then there’s the Guildford House gallery, A
interesting 17th century town house, built between 1660 and the 1680s by the
Childe family. The building has been many things over the years, including a
saddlers, a tent makers, a stationers, a restaurant, a cake and chocolate
shop.
For spectators of the world famous Derby where else better is there to stay
than the Pride of the Valley hotel to for fill your requirements. Epsom Derby,
is considered one of the most prestigious flat thoroughbred horse races in the
world. The race takes place each year on the first weekend in June.
We have 15 great bedrooms that have been individually designed and themed.

in the rooms. A number of our rooms also have 4 poster beds and roll-top
baths.

The Pride of the Valley was built in 1867 and was named after a neighbouring
beauty spot. The site that the hotel is located on used to be common land and
was used for cattle fairs previous to 1867
In the late 19th Century the area outside the hotel was used as the venue for
Jumps Days which were small village fetes. The hotel was built to take
advantage of the roads built in the area with its passing trade and to serve
the local community and the large houses that were built along the Tilford
Road.
